I know we’re a podcast but we also offer training courses about home cinema and audio calibration, we’ve done four sessions so far and they seem popular.
Email training@homecinemadesign.co.uk if you’re interested.
Level 1 – Introduction to calibration using RoomEQ Wizard
For medium experienced home cinema installers – it’s ideal if you’ve taken the RP22 or HAA L1 training already. We give you the basics of RoomEQ Wizard, measuring the room with microphones, and we calibrate a 2.2 system.
Once you can get two speakers and subs sounding right and in time, you should be able to apply that knowledge to more channels in a cinema system.
Price is £375 + VAT and we’re currently holding them round the UK, often at Delli Towers (Stafford) and sometimes Owen Towers (Bristol).
Locations will be added as we think of them, subject to demand, and if people provide a venue (big thanks to our friends at CEDIA for hosting us in March).
If you’d like to know more about this course, Episode 18 ‘The Magic Wand’ with course alumnus Tom Lanham covers it all nicely.
Level 2 – Advanced home cinema audio calibration
Coming Summer 2025 – a two-day course (probably) where you’ll calibrate Tom’s excellent new facility near Stafford, covering everything a lot more deeply.
This one will likely always be held at Delli Towers due to the hardware we need, unless anyone wants to lend us a really good room with a Trinnov or Storm processor and a ton of speakers and subs.
You will need to have completed Level 1, or persuade us that you can do the basics in REW.
More details when we know them, hurry up Tom.
